Girls' Golf Adds Team and Individual Founders Titles to Trophy Case

  • History has been made today as the Taft Varsity Girl's Golf Team defeated five other schools from the Founders League to claim their first title as Founders League Champions. This tournament is only in its second year. Watertown Golf club was the host site and thirty girls participated in the 9 Hole competition. Taft won by a 16 stroke margin. May 15, 2010 — In an incredibly exciting and well-played game, Taft was defeated in the Class A Western New England Semi Finals by Westminster. Both teams hit the ball hard, and fielded the ball well, but in the end Westminster's run scored in the bottom of the first inning proved to be enough to send them on to the Championship game. Boys' Lacrosse Tops Rival 'Kiss for First Time Since 2004 in OT Thriller

May 15, 2010 — (Watertown, CT.) - With less than a minute left in Overtime, Senior Captain Bo Redpath took the ball coast to coast, ran by five Hotchkiss defenders, then dished the ball cross-crease to Matt Hauck who found the back of net with 38 seconds remaining to give the Big Red a dramatic 7-6 OT win over the Hotchkiss Bearcats.
