Coach Biography: Chris Torino
Head Coach, Varsity Baseball
Chris Torino comes to Taft with a wealth of playing and coaching experience in baseball, soccer, and basketball. Since joining the Taft Faculty in 2002, he has served as the Varsity Baseball Assistant Coach and the Head Thirds Basketball coach.
Chris was a four year member of the Amherst College Baseball team as well as serving as it Captain his senior year. After graduation from Amherst in 1995 , Chris served as the Head Baseball Coach for a Senior Babe Ruth team in Merrimack, NH for two years.
He then joined the Faculty at Gould Academy in Bethel, ME where he served as Head Baseball Coach from 1995-98, Boys Varsity Soccer assistant coach, JV Boys Soccer Head Coach, JV Basketball Coach, and Varsity Boys Basketball Assistant Coach.
A cross-country move landed him at the Sage Hill School in Newport Beach, CA where he assumed the role of Head Baseball Coach and Varsity Soccer Assistant Coach. After two years In California, Chris made the move to Taft.
Chris lives on Campus with his wife Dena, two children, and their two dogs. He teaches English and is the Dean of Faculty.
