Global Leadership Institute
The Center for Global Leadership and Service is currently accepting our third cohort of Global Leadership Institute (GLI) scholars. Taft and Waterbury public high school sophomores are eligible to apply to this two-year program. Upon acceptance into the program, following an orientation, the 20 selected students will attend monthly talks by global leaders and scholars and participate in teambuilding and diversity leadership workshops in their first year. Students will also participate in a summer service (internship) experience, and by April of their junior year, scholars must complete a culminating Global Leadership Project (GLP). The GLP requires students to investigate a local, national or global problem for which they have a genuine concern and propose possible solutions in the form of a paper and a public presentation.
